حَدَّثَنَا حَمَلَةُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْغَزِّيُّ ، بِمَدِينَةِ غَزَّةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو الْغَزِّيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ الْفِرْيَابِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عَوْفٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ النَّهْدِيِّ ، عَنِ سَلْمَانَ الْفَارِسِيِّ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : "تَمَسَّحُوا بِالأَرْضِ ، فَإِنَّهَا بِكُمْ بَرَّةٌ "، لَمْ يَرْوِهِ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، إِلا الْفِرْيَابِيُّ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Salman Farsi (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Join yourselves with the earth (i.e., perform tayammum with soil and place your forehead on the ground during prostration); this (earth) is good and pure for you."
