Prohibition of sleeping at night with greasy hands
Hadith 637
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ دَاوُدَ الْبَصْرِيُّ الْمُؤَدِّبُ ، بِبَغْدَادَ ، حَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ بْنُ وَاضِحٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْمُقَدَّمِيُّ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ بْنِ حُسَيْنٍ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ : "مَنْ بَاتَ وَفِي يَدِهِ رِيحُ غَمَرٍ فَأَصَابَهُ شَيْءٌ فَلا يَلُومَنَّ إِلا نَفْسَهُ "، لَمْ يَرْوِهِ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، إِلا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْن
Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever spends the night while there is the smell of grease on his hand, and if any harmful thing harms him, then he should only blame himself."
