Narrated Aishah, Ummul Muminin: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to setup a pulpit in the mosque for Hassan who would stand on it and satirise those who spoke against the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would say: The spirit of holiness (i. e. Gabriel) is with Hassan so long as he speaks in defence of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.

Benefits and Issues: ➊ Presenting poetry in the mosque in honor of the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) is a permissible act.
➋ This was a great honor for Hassan (radi Allahu anhu) that for a noble purpose, the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) offered his own pulpit, and gave the glad tidings of support from Jibril (alayhis salam).
➌ The background of this hadith should be kept in mind: Hassan (radi Allahu anhu) became involved in the incident of Ifk concerning Aisha Siddiqa (radi Allahu anha), and he was subjected to the prescribed punishment (hadd) as well. Later, when someone criticized him in the presence of Umm al-Mu’minin Sayyida Aisha Siddiqa (radi Allahu anha), she, overlooking her personal matter, openly acknowledged his services for Islam and the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), as is mentioned in this hadith.
