Description of demolishing 360 idols in the Kaaba
Hadith 562
حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ بُرَّةَ الصَّنْعَانِيُّ ، بِصَنْعَاءَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ الثَّوْرِيُّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي مَعْمَرٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ "دَخَلَ الْكَعْبَةَ يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ وَحَوْلَ الْكَعْبَةِ ثَلاثُ مِائَةٍ وَسِتُّونَ صَنَمًا ، فَجَعَلَ يَطْعَنُهَا بِعُودٍ ، وَيَقُولُ : جَاءَ الْحَقُّ وَزَهَقَ الْبَاطِلُ ، إِنَّ الْبَاطِلَ كَانَ زَهُوقًا "، فَتَتَسَاقَطُ لِوُجُوهِهَا لَمْ يَرْوِهِ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ الثَّوْرِيِّ ، إِلا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ
Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) entered the Ka'bah on the day of the conquest of Makkah, and on his right and left were three hundred and sixty idols. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would strike them with a stick and say: “﴿JAA'AL-HAQQU WA ZAHAAQAL-BAATILU INNAL-BAATILA KAANA ZAHOOQAA﴾ The truth has come and falsehood has vanished; surely falsehood is ever bound to vanish.” So the idols would fall down on their faces.
