´It was narrated from ' Ali bin Abu Talib that the Prophet (ﷺ) said :` "There is no divorce before marriage."
Maulana Ataullah Sajid
Benefits and Issues: If someone says: “If I marry such-and-such woman, then she is divorced,” then this is idle talk (laghw kalam) which will have no effect. Similarly, if he says: “Whichever woman I marry, she is divorced,” and then he marries, divorce will not take effect, because at the time he pronounced divorce, she was not his wife for the divorce to apply, and after marriage, he did not pronounce divorce again.
