Description of women singing at weddings
Hadith 480
حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ الصُّورِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي أُوَيْسٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ الأَنْصَارِيِّ ، عَنْ عَمْرَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ "مَرَّ بِنِسَاءٍ مِنَ الأَنْصَارِ فِي عُرْسٍ لَهُنَّ ، وَهُنَّ يُغَنِّينَ : وَأَهْدَى لَهَا أَكْبُشًا تَبَحْبَحُ فِي الْمِرْبَدِ وَزَوْجُكِ النَّادِي وَيَعْلَمُ مَا فِي غَدِ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ : لا يَعْلَمُ مَا فِي غَدٍ إِلا اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ "، لَمْ يَرْوِهِ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، إِلا أَبُو أُوَيْسٍ ، تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ إِسْمَاعِيلُ
Lady Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, says: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, passed by the women at a wedding of the Ansar, and they were singing: “﴿And he gifted her several rams, resting in the enclosure﴾” “﴿And your husband is in the gathering and knows what will happen tomorrow﴾” And several rams were gifted to her, which were staying in the pen, and your husband is in the assembly, and he knows what will happen tomorrow. So the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “No one knows what will happen tomorrow except Allah.”
