Description of a capable woman needing her husband’s permission for Hajj
Hadith 444
حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمُجَاشِعِيُّ الأَصْبَهَانِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي يَعْقُوبَ الْكَرْمَانِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَسَّانُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الصَّائِغِ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، "فِي امْرَأَةٍ لَهَا زَوْجٌ وَلَهَا مَالٌ ، وَلا يَأْذَنُ لَهَا زَوْجُهَا فِي الْحَجِّ ، قَالَ : لَيْسَ لَهَا أَنْ تَنْطَلِقَ إِلا بِإِذْنِ زَوْجِهَا "، لَمْ يَرْوِهِ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، إِلا حَسَّانُ
Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said regarding the woman who has a husband and also has wealth, but her husband does not permit her to perform Hajj: "This woman should not go for Hajj without her husband's permission."
