Virtue of the people of Arafah
Hadith 443
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ رِدَاءٍ أَبُو الْحَسَنِ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا نُوحُ بْنُ حَبِيبٍ الْقُومَسِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَزْهَرُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْمُثَنَّى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بَابَيْهِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ : "إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لِيُبَاهِيَ مَلائِكَتَهُ عَشِيَّةَ عَرَفَةَ بِأَهْلِ عَرَفَةَ ، يَقُولُ : انْظُرُوا إِلَى عِبَادِي أَتَوْنِي شُعْثًا غُبْرًا "، لَمْ يَرْوِهِ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، إِلا الْمُثَنَّى ، تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ أَزْهَرُ
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah Almighty boasts to His angels about the people of Arafah on the evening of Arafah. He says: 'Look at My servants; they have come to Me disheveled, covered in dust, and with their hair unkempt.'"
