Description of Hajj for a menstruating or postpartum woman
Hadith 440
حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ هَارُونَ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ الأَصْبَهَانِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مَعْمَرٍ الْقَطِيعِيُّ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ بْنُ شُجَاعٍ الْجَزَرِيُّ، عَنْ خُصَيْفٍ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، وَمُجَاهِدٍ ، وَعَطَاءٍ ، عَنٍ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ "فِي النُّفَسَاءِ وَالْحَائِضِ : تَغْتَسِلُ ، وَتُحْرِمُ ، وَتَقْضِي الْمَنَاسِكَ كُلَّهَا ، إِلا الطَّوَافَ بِالْبَيْتِ حَتَّى تَطْهُرَ "، لَمْ يَرْوِهِ عَنْ خُصَيْفٍ ، إِلا مَرْوَانُ بْنُ شُجَاعٍ ، وَهُوَ لا بَأْسَ بِهِ ، رَوَى عَنْهُ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) reports: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said regarding a woman in menstruation or postnatal bleeding: "She should perform ghusl (ritual bath) and enter into ihram, and perform all the rites of Hajj except for the circumambulation (tawaf) of the House (Ka'bah). Then when she becomes pure, she should perform this tawaf as well."
