Description of the virtue of the fasting person
Hadith 394
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ الْمُبَرِّدُ النَّحْوِيُّ أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ ، حَدَّثَنَا زِيَادُ بْنُ يَحْيَى أَبُو الْخَطَّابِ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَهْلُ بْنُ حَمَّادٍ أَبُو عَتَّابٍ الدَّلالُ ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ الْبَجَلِيُّ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ الْهَمْدَانِيِّ ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ : "مَا مِنْ عَبْدٍ يُصْبِحُ صَائِمًا إِلا فُتِحَتْ لَهُ أَبْوَابُ السَّمَاءِ ، وَسَبَّحَتْ لَهُ أَعْضَاؤُهُ ، وَاسْتَغْفَرَ لَهُ أَهْلُ السَّمَاءِ الدُّنْيَا إِلَى أَنْ تُوَارَى بِالْحِجَابِ ، فَإِنْ صَلَّى رَكْعَةً أَوْ رَكْعَتَيْنِ تَطَوُّعًا أَضَاءَتْ لَهُ السَّمَاءُ نُورًا ، وَقُلْنَ أَزْوَاجُهُ مِنَ الْحُورِ الْعِينِ : اللَّهُمَّ ، اقْبِضْهُ إِلَيْنَا فَقَدِ اشْتَقْنَا إِلَى رُؤْيَتِهِ ، فَإِنْ هُوَ هَلَّلَ أَوْ سَبَّحَ أَوْ كَبَّرَ تَلَقَّتْهُ مَلائِكَةٌ يَكْتُبُونَهَا إِلَى أَنْ تُوَارَى بِالْحِجَابِ "، لَمْ يَرْوِهِ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، إِلا ابْنُ أَبِي لَيْلَى ، وَلا عَنْهُ إِلا جَرِيرُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ ، تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ أَبُو عَتَّابٍ
Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When a person wakes up in the morning while fasting, the gates of the heavens are opened for him, and his limbs begin to glorify (Allah), and the inhabitants of the lowest heaven seek forgiveness for him, until the sun begins to set. Then, if he performs one or two units of voluntary prayer, the heavens become illuminated for him, and his wives from among the wide-eyed maidens (hur al-‘ayn) say: O Allah! Take his soul and bring him to us, for we long to see him. If he says: 'La ilaha illallah, Subhanallah' and 'Allahu Akbar', the angels raise up these words and continue to record them until the evening."
