Sayyida Umm Hani bint Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with her) says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "As long as my Ummah upholds Ramadan, they will not be humiliated." It was asked: O Messenger of Allah! What disgrace will there be in neglecting the month of Ramadan? He said: "Their sacred things will be violated, and whoever commits adultery or drinks wine in this month, Allah's curse is upon him, and whoever is in the heavens will continue to curse him until the next year. If he dies before the coming of the next Ramadan, then with Allah there will be no good deed for him to save him from the Fire. So fear the month of Ramadan, for good deeds in it are increased much more than at other times. And likewise, evil deeds as well."
