Reciting Surah at-Tur in Maghrib prayer
Hadith 328
حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ غَيْلانَ الْعُمَانِيُّ ، بِالْبَصْرَةِ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ الرَّبَعِيُّ الْبَصْرِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ مُطْعِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ ، قَالَ : " أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي بِأَصْحَابِهِ الْمَغْرِبَ ، فَسَمِعْتُهُ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ : مَا لَهُ مِنْ دَافِعٍ ، وَقَدْ خَرَجَ صَوْتُهُ مِنَ الْمَسْجِدِ إِنَّ عَذَابَ رَبِّكَ لَوَاقِعٌ { 7 } مَا لَهُ مِنْ دَافِعٍ { 8 } سورة الطور آية 7-8 ، فَكَأَنَّمَا صُدِعَ قَلْبِي "، لَمْ يَرْوِهِ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، إِلا هُشَيْمٌ ، تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ سَعِيدُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ وَهُوَ ثِقَةٌ ، وَلا نَحْفَظُ لإِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ حَدِيثًا مُسْنَدًا غَيْرَ هَذَا
Sayyiduna Jubair bin Mut’im (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) while he was leading his companions in the Maghrib prayer, and I heard him saying: “Mā lahu min dāfi‘” meaning, “No one can avert Allah’s punishment.” At that time, the voice of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was reaching outside the mosque. “Indeed, the punishment of your Lord will surely occur. No one can avert it.” (, ) So that voice struck my heart as if my heart would burst.
