The chapter on removing shoes during prayer
Hadith 282
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ الْبَرَاءِ الْبَغْدَادِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْجَعْدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الشَّقَرِيُّ ، عَنْ زِيَادٍ الْجَصَّاصِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكَرَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : "ذَا خَلَعَ أَحَدُكُمْ نَعْلَيْهِ فِي الصَّلاةِ فَلا يَجْعَلْهُمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ فَيَأْثَمَ بِهِمَا ، وَلا خَلْفَهُ فَيَأْثَمَ بِهِمَا أَخُوهُ الْمُسْلِمِ ، وَلَكِنْ لِيَجْعَلْهُمَا بَيْنَ رِجْلَيْهِ "، لَمْ يَرْوِهِ عَنْ زِيَادٍ ، إِلا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الشَّقَرِيُّ الْبَصْرِيُّ ، تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْجَعْدِ ، وَلا يُرْوَى عَنْ أَبِي بَكَرَةَ ، إِلا بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ
Sayyiduna Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, that he said: "When any one of you removes his shoes in prayer, he should not place them in front of him lest he himself becomes sinful because of them, nor should he place them behind him lest his Muslim brother behind him becomes sinful because of them. Rather, he should place them between his legs."
