The chapter on three things that invalidate the prayer
Hadith 202
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْخَبَّازِ أَبُو بَكْرٍ النَّحْوِيُّ التُّسْتَرِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَهْلُ بْنُ بَحْرٍ الْجُنْدِيسَابُورِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَلْمُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ الضَّبِّيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو حُرَّةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ السَّلِيطِيُّ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلالٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : "يَقْطَعُ الصَّلاةَ : الْكَلْبُ الأَسْوَدُ ، وَالْمَرْأَةُ ، وَالْحِمَارُ ، قُلْتُ : فَمَا بَالُ الأَسْوَدِ مِنَ الأَحْمَرِ مِنَ الأَصْفَرِ ؟ ، قَالَ : يَا ابْنَ أَخِي ، سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَمَا سَأَلْتَنِي ، فَقَالَ : الْكَلْبُ الأَسْوَدُ شَيْطَانٌ "، لَمْ يَرْوِهِ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ السَّلِيطِيِّ ، إِلا أَبُو حُرَّةَ تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ سَلْمُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ
Sayyiduna Abu Dharr Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The prayer is interrupted by a black dog, a woman, and a donkey." Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I asked, why is the black dog more severe than the red or yellow one? Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) replied: O nephew! I also asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) the same question as you have asked me, and he said: "The black dog is a devil."
