Hadith 164
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي صَغِيرٍ الْحَلَبِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ سَعْدِ بْنِ عَمَّارِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ الْقَرَظُ مُؤَذِّن ُرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، عَنْ جَدِّي ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ سَعْدٍ ، " أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَمَرَ بِلالا أَنْ يُدْخِلَ يَدَيْهِ فِي أُذُنَيْهِ إِذَا أَذَّنَ ، وَقَالَ : إِنَّهُ أَرْفَعُ لِصَوْتِكَ "
Sayyiduna Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) reports: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) instructed Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) that when he gives the adhan, he should place his fingers in his ears, and said: “This will raise your voice.”
