Sayyiduna Mughirah bin Shu'bah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I poured water for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so he washed both his hands and rinsed his mouth, then cleaned his nose, washed his face, washed his forearms, wiped his forehead, and wiped over his socks and turban.

Benefits and Issues
➊ In villages, that is, in open areas, it is necessary to go far from the populated area to relieve oneself so that no one’s gaze may fall upon a person. In cities, since enclosed toilets are constructed, there is no need to go far in such places.
➋ The noble practice of the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) reflects human and Islamic nature, in which, besides safeguarding the private parts from human sight, there is also a lesson in maintaining the cleanliness and purity of the environment. Furthermore, it teaches that the environment of the populated area should not be polluted in any way.
➌ Moreover, you were a great embodiment of modesty and dignity.
➍ In these ahadith, observe also the profound insight of the noble Companions (radi Allahu anhum), that they observed every aspect of the Prophet’s (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) sitting and rising with such careful attention and from a legal perspective, preserved it in their minds, and conveyed it to the Ummah.

1:
This was done only to be out of the sight of people; now this objective is achieved through the constructed toilet.

English Commentary:
It is obligatory in all circumstances to conceal the private parts from the gaze of others. When a person feels the need to urinate or relieve himself, it becomes necessary to uncover the body.
For this purpose, one should go to the toilet (bathroom) so that the covering (hijab) from others is maintained.
If this need arises in an open field, then one should go so far away from others that no one can see him.
It is also possible to relieve oneself behind some object, for example, by going behind a wall or a tree, provided that there is no other reason for prohibition there—such as the tree not being used as a place where people commonly sit.
