Hadith 1083
حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ مُوسَى الأَخْفَشُ الْمُقْرِئُ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَلامُ بْنُ سُلَيْمٍ الْمَدَائِنِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَمْرِو بْنُ الْعَلاءِ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : "قَرَأْتُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ اللَّهُ الَّذِي خَلَقَكُمْ مِنْ ضَعْفٍ سورة الروم آية 54 ، فَقَالَ : مِنْ ضُعْفٍ ، ثُمَّ جَعَلَ مِنْ بَعْدِ ضَعْفٍ قُوَّةً سورة الروم آية 54 ، فَقَالَ : ثُمَّ جَعَلَ مِنْ بَعْدِ ضَعْفٍ قُوَّةً سورة الروم آية 54 "
Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: I recited this verse before the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): “Allah is He Who created you from weakness,” so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Recite it as: ‘min du‘f’.” And I recited: “Then He made after weakness strength,” so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Recite it like this: ‘thumma ja‘ala min ba‘di du‘fin quwwah’” (al-Rum: 54).
