Statement about performing ablution
Hadith 108
حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ بْنِ فَرُّوخَ بْنِ دَيْرَجِ بْنِ بِلالِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ الأَنْصَارِيُّ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنِي جَدِّي لأُمِّي عُمَرُ بْنُ أَبَانَ بْنِ مُفَضَّلٍ الْمَدَنِيُّ ، قَالَ : أَرَانِي أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ ، الْوُضُوءَ أَخَذَ رَكْوَةً فَوَضَعَهَا عَلَى يَسَارِهِ ، وَصَبَّ عَلَى يَدِهِ الْيُمْنَى ، فَغَسَلَهَا ثَلاثًا ، ثُمَّ أَدَارَ الرَّكْوَةَ عَلَى يَدِهِ الْيُمْنَى ، فَتَوَضَّأَ ثَلاثًا ثَلاثًا ، وَمَسَحَ بِرَأْسِهِ ثَلاثًا ، وَأَخَذَ مَاءً جَدِيدًا لِسِمَاخَيْهِ ، فَمَسَحَ سِمَاخَيْهِ ، فَقُلْتُ لَهُ : " قَدْ مَسَحْتَ أُذُنَيْكَ ؟ ، فَقَالَ : يَا غُلامُ ، إِنَّهُمَا مِنَ الرَّأْسِ لَيْسَ هُمَا مِنَ الْوَجْهِ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : يَا غُلامُ ، هَلْ رَأَيْتَ وَفَهِمْتَ أَوْ أُعِيدُ عَلَيْكَ ؟ فَقُلْتُ : قَدْ كَفَانِي وَقَدْ فَهِمْتُ ، فَقَالَ : هَكَذَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَتَوَضَّأُ "، لَمْ يَرْوِ عَمْرُو بْنُ أَبَانَ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، حَدِيثًا غَيْرَ هَذَا
Umar bin Aban bin Mufaddal, may Allah have mercy on him, narrates that Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, showed me how the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, performed ablution. He took a jug and placed it on his left side, and poured water from it onto his right hand and washed it three times. Then he turned the jug to the other side and performed ablution three times each, and wiped his head three times, and took fresh water for his ears, and wiped his ears with it. I said: You wiped your ears. He said: Son! These two are part of the head and not of the face. Then he said: Son! Have you seen and understood, or should I repeat it again? I said: It is enough and I have understood. He said: I saw the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, perform ablution in this manner.
