Hadith 1065
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْجَارُودِيِّ الأَصْبَهَانِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِصَامِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ جَبَّرٌ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ الثَّوْرِيُّ ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنِ الأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ : عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ : "لا يَقُولُنَّ أَحَدُكُمُ : اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي إِنْ شِئْتَ ، وَلَكِنْ لِيَعْزِمْ فِي الْمَسْأَلَةِ ، فَإِنَّهُ لا مُكْرِهَ لَهُ "، لَمْ يَرْوِهِ عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ ، إِلا سُفْيَانُ ، وَلا عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، إِلا جَبَّرٌ
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "None of you should say: O Allah! If You wish, forgive me. Rather, he should ask with determination, for there is no one who can compel Allah."
