كتاب الرقاقThe Book of Heart-Softeners
(يَوْمَ الآخِرَةِ لَنْ يَسْتَطِيعَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَمَلَ شَيْءٍ لِأَقْرِبَائِهِ)
(On the Last Day, the Prophet, peace be upon him, will not be able to do anything for his relatives)
Hadith 5373
وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ: لَمَّا نَزَلَتْ (وَأَنْذِرْ عشيرتك الْأَقْرَبين) دَعَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قُرَيْشًا فَاجْتَمَعُوا فَعَمَّ وَخَصَّ فَقَالَ: «يَا بَنِي كَعْبِ بْنِ لُؤَيٍّ أَنْقِذُوا أَنْفُسَكُمْ مِنَ النَّارِ يَا بَنِي مُرَّةَ بْنِ كَعْبٍ أَنْقِذُوا أَنْفُسَكُمْ مِنَ النَّارِ. يَا بَنِي عَبْدِ شَمْسٍ أَنْقِذُوا أَنْفُسَكُمْ من النَّار يَا بني عبد منَاف أَنْقِذُوا أَنفسكُم من النَّار. با بَنِي هَاشِمٍ أَنْقِذُوا أَنْفُسَكُمْ مِنَ النَّارِ. يَا بني عبد الْمطلب أَنْقِذُوا أَنفسكُم من النَّار. يَا فَاطِمَةُ أَنْقِذِي نَفْسَكِ مِنَ النَّارِ فَإِنِّي لَا أَمْلِكُ لَكُمْ مِنَ اللَّهِ شَيْئًا غَيْرَ أَنَّ لَكُمْ رَحِمًا سَأَبُلُّهَا بِبَلَالِهَا» . رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ وَفَى الْمُتَّفَقِ عَلَيْهِ قَالَ: «يَا مَعْشَرَ قُرَيْشٍ اشْتَرُوا أَنْفُسَكُمْ لَا أُغْنِي عَنْكُمْ مِنَ اللَّهِ شَيْئًا وَيَا صَفِيَّةُ عَمَّةَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ لَا أُغْنِي عَنْكِ مِنَ اللَّهِ شَيْئًا. وَيَا فَاطِمَةُ بِنْتَ مُحَمَّدٍ سَلِينِي مَا شِئْتِ مِنْ مَالِي لَا أُغْنِي عَنْكِ مِنَ اللَّهِ شَيْئًا»
Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: When this verse was revealed: "And warn your nearest relatives," the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) called the Quraysh, and they all gathered. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) addressed everyone, both the general and the specific, and said: O Banu Ka'b bin Lu'ayy! Save yourselves from the Fire of Hell. O Banu Murrah bin Ka'b! Save yourselves from the Fire. O Banu Abd Shams! Save yourselves from the Fire. O Banu Abd al-Muttalib! Save yourselves from the Fire. Fatimah! Save yourself from the Fire. I have no power to do anything for you before Allah, except that I will uphold the ties of kinship with kindness.
And in the narration of Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: O assembly of Quraysh! Save your souls (from the Fire by having faith); I can do nothing for you before Allah. O Banu Abd Manaf! I can do nothing for you before Allah. Abbas bin Abd al-Muttalib! I can do nothing for you before Allah. Safiyyah, the aunt of the Messenger of Allah! I can do nothing for you before Allah. Fatimah bint Muhammad! Take whatever you wish from my wealth, I can do nothing for you before Allah.
Narrated by Muslim and al-Bukhari.
