Mishkat al-Masabih
كتاب الرقاقThe Book of Heart-Softeners
(لَوْ عَلِمْتُمْ مَا أَعْلَمُ لَبَكَيْتُمْ كَثِيرًا وَضَحِكْتُمْ قَلِيلًا)
(If you knew what I know, you would cry much and laugh little)
Hadith 5339
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَوْ تَعْلَمُونَ مَا أَعْلَمُ لَبَكَيْتُمْ كَثِيرًا وَلَضَحِكْتُمْ قَلِيلا» . رَوَاهُ البُخَارِيّ
Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates: Abul Qasim, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, said: "By Him in Whose hand is my soul! If you knew (about the punishment of the disobedient) what I know, you would weep more and laugh less." Narrated by al-Bukhari.
