كتاب الرقاقThe Book of Heart-Softeners
(حَالَةُ طَالِبِ الدُّنْيَا)
(The condition of the seeker of the world)
Hadith 5320
وَعَنْ أَنَسٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «مَنْ كَانَتْ نِيَّتُهُ طَلَبَ الْآخِرَةِ جَعَلَ اللَّهُ غِنَاهُ فِي قَلْبِهِ وَجَمَعَ لَهُ شَمْلَهُ وَأَتَتْهُ الدُّنْيَا وَهِيَ رَاغِمَةٌ وَمَنْ كَانَتْ نِيَّتُهُ طَلَبَ الدُّنْيَا جَعَلَ اللَّهُ الْفَقْرَ بَيْنَ عَيْنَيْهِ وَشَتَّتَ عَلَيْهِ أَمْرَهُ وَلَا يَأْتِيهِ مِنْهَا إِلاَّ مَا كُتِبَ لَهُ» . رَوَاهُ التِّرْمِذِيّ وَرَوَاهُ أَحْمد
It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever's intention is to seek the Hereafter, Allah makes his heart content, organizes his affairs, and the world comes to him humbled. And whoever's intention is to seek the world, Allah places poverty before his eyes, scatters his affairs, and he gets nothing of the world except what Allah has decreed for him." Its chain is weak, narrated by al-Tirmidhi.
