Hadith 5282
وَعَنْ سُفْيَانَ الثَّوْرِيِّ قَالَ: لَيْسَ الزُّهْدُ فِي الدُّنْيَا بِلُبْسِ الْغَلِيظِ وَالْخَشِنِ وَأَكْلِ الْجَشِبِ إِنَّمَا الزُّهْدُ فِي الدُّنْيَا قِصَرُ الْأَمَلِ. رَوَاهُ فِي «شرح السّنة»
Sufyan Thawri (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "Wearing coarse, rough clothes and eating dry, simple food is not called renunciation of the world; rather, having fewer desires is renunciation of the world." Its chain is weak, narrated in Sharh al-Sunnah.
