Mishkat al-Masabih
كتاب الرقاقThe Book of Heart-Softeners
(قَلِيلٌ مِنْ أُمَّتِي مَنْ يَتَجَاوَزُ عُمْرُهُ السَّبْعِينَ)
(Few in my nation will exceed seventy years of age)
Hadith 5280
وَعَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «أَعْمَارُ أُمَّتِي مَا بَيْنَ السِتِّينَ إِلَى السَبْعِينَ وَأَقَلُّهُمْ مَنْ يَجُوزُ ذَلِكَ» . رَوَاهُ التِّرْمِذِيُّ وَابْنُ مَاجَهْ وَذُكِرَ حَدِيثُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بنِ الشِّخيرِ فِي «بَاب عِيَادَة الْمَرِيض»
Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The ages of my Ummah are between sixty and seventy years, and those who exceed this (sixty, seventy) are few among them." Tirmidhi, Ibn Majah. Hasan, narrated by Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah. And the hadith narrated from Abdullah bin Shukhair has already been mentioned in the chapter on visiting the sick.
