Mishkat al-Masabih
كتاب الرقاقThe Book of Heart-Softeners
(قُسِّمَتْ تَمْرَةٌ وَاحِدَةٌ بَيْنَ الصَّحَابَةِ)
(A single date was distributed among the companions)
Hadith 5255
وَعَن أبي هُرَيْرَة أَنَّهُ أَصَابَهُمْ جُوعٌ فَأَعْطَاهُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَمْرَةً تَمْرَةً. رَوَاهُ التِّرْمِذِيُّ
It is narrated from Abu Huraira, may Allah be pleased with him, that he felt hungry, so the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, gave him one date at a time. Its chain is authentic; narrated by al-Tirmidhi.
