Mishkat al-Masabih
كتاب الرقاقThe Book of Heart-Softeners
(إِذَا أَحَبَّ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَبْدًا)
(When Allah Almighty loves a servant)
Hadith 5250
وَعَن قَتَادَة بن النُّعْمَان أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «إِذا أحب الله عبداحماه الدُّنْيَا كَمَا يَظَلُّ أَحَدُكُمْ يَحْمِي سَقِيمَهُ الْمَاءَ» . رَوَاهُ أَحْمد وَالتِّرْمِذِيّ
It is narrated from Qatadah bin Nu’man (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "When Allah loves a servant, He protects him from (the wealth and status of) the world just as one of you protects his sick one from water." Sahih, narrated by Ahmad and al-Tirmidhi.
