Mishkat al-Masabih
كتاب الرقاقThe Book of Heart-Softeners
(حُبُّ الدُّنْيَا رَأْسُ كُلِّ شَرٍّ)
(Love of the world is the root of all evil)
Hadith 5213
وروى اليهقي مِنْهُ فِي «شُعَبِ الْإِيمَانِ» عَنِ الْحَسَنِ مُرْسَلًا: «حب الدُّنْيَا رَأس كل خَطِيئَة»
And Imam Bayhaqi narrated it as mursal with a hasan chain in Shu'ab al-Iman: "Love of the world is the root of all sins." Its chain is weak, narrated by al-Bayhaqi in Shu'ab al-Iman.
