Hadith 5204
Umm Darda (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: I said to Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him): Why is it that you do not seek (wealth and status) like so-and-so? He replied: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: "Ahead of you is a difficult pass which those carrying heavy loads will not be able to cross." I wish to keep my load light for passing through that pass. Its chain of narration is weak; it is narrated by Al-Bayhaqi in Shu'ab al-Iman.
