كتاب الرقاقThe Book of Heart-Softeners
(سَبَبُ نَعِيمِ الدُّنْيَا عَلَى العَاصِي)
(The reason for worldly blessings upon the disobedient)
Hadith 5201
وَعَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «إِذَا رَأَيْتَ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يُعْطِي الْعَبْدَ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا عَلَى مَعَاصِيهِ مَا يُحِبُّ فَإِنَّمَا هُوَ اسْتِدْرَاجٌ» ثُمَّ تَلَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: (فَلَمَّا نسوا ماذكروا بِهِ فَتَحْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ أَبْوَابَ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ حَتَّى إِذَا فَرِحُوا بِمَا أُوتُوا أَخَذْنَاهُمْ بَغْتَةً فَإِذَا هم مبلسون) رَوَاهُ أَحْمد
Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When you see Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, giving the world to a servant despite his disobedience (the disobedience) which He does not like, then it is a plan (from Allah)." Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) recited this verse: "So when they forgot that by which they had been reminded, We opened to them the doors of everything, until when they rejoiced in that which they were given, We seized them suddenly, and they were then plunged into destruction and despair." Hasan, narrated by Ahmad.
