Mishkat al-Masabih
كتاب الرقاقThe Book of Heart-Softeners
(رَاحَةُ القَلْبِ لِلْعِبَادَةِ)
(Tranquility of the heart for worship)
Hadith 5172
وَعَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَقُولُ: ابْنَ آدَمَ تَفْرَّغْ لِعِبَادَتِي أَمْلَأْ صَدْرَكَ غِنًى وَأَسِدَّ فَقْرَكَ وَإِنْ لَا تَفْعَلْ مَلَأْتُ يَدَكَ شُغُلًا وَلَمْ أسُدَّ فقرك . رَوَاهُ أَحْمد وَابْن مَاجَه
Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah says: O son of Adam! Free yourself for My worship, I will fill your heart with richness (contentment), and I will remove your poverty. But if you do not do so, I will keep you busy with work and will not remove your poverty." Its chain is Hasan. Narrated by Ahmad and Ibn Majah.
