Hadith 5153
وَعَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يَسْأَلُ الْعَبْدَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فَيَقُولُ: مَا لَكَ إِذَا رَأَيْتَ الْمُنْكَرَ فَلَمْ تُنْكِرْهُ؟ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: فَيُلَقَّى حُجَّتَهُ فَيَقُولُ: يَا رَبِّ خِفْتُ النَّاسَ وَرَجَوْتُكَ «. رَوَى الْبَيْهَقِيُّ الْأَحَادِيثَ الثَّلَاثَةَ فِي» شُعَبِ الْإِيمَانِ
Abu Saeed (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, will ask the servant on the Day of Resurrection: What happened to you that when you saw evil, you did not stop it?" The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "He will be taught his argument and he will say: O my Lord! I feared the people and hoped in You." Imam Bayhaqi has narrated all three hadiths in Shu'ab al-Iman. Its chain is weak. Narrated by al-Bayhaqi in Shu'ab al-Iman.
