Hadith 5119
It is narrated from Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), he said on the pulpit: O people! Adopt humility, for I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whoever adopts humility for the sake of Allah, Allah grants him elevation; he considers himself small in his own eyes, but in the eyes of people he is great. And whoever is arrogant, Allah makes him low; he is small in the eyes of people while he considers himself great, until he becomes, in their view, more despicable and contemptible than a dog or a pig." Its chain is fabricated. Narrated by Al-Bayhaqi in Shu'ab al-Iman.
