Mishkat al-Masabih
كتاب الآدابThe Book of Manners
(النَّارُ مُحَرَّمَةٌ عَلَى مَنْ يَتَنَعَّمُ)
(The Fire is forbidden for the one who acts with gentleness)
Hadith 5084
وَعَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِلَّا أُخْبِرُكُمْ بِمَنْ يَحْرُمُ عَلَى النَّارِ وَبِمَنْ تَحْرُمُ النَّارُ عَلَيْهِ؟ عَلَى كُلِّ هَيِّنٍ لَيِّنٍ قَرِيبٍ سَهْلٍ» . رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ وَالتِّرْمِذِيُّ وَقَالَ: هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيب
Abdullah bin Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Shall I not inform you about those people upon whom the Fire of Hell is forbidden, or who are forbidden for the Fire of Hell? They are those who are easy-going, gentle, approachable, and soft-natured.” Ahmad, Tirmidhi, and he said: This hadith is Hasan Gharib. Its chain is Hasan, narrated by Ahmad and Tirmidhi.
