(الحَسَدُ يَأْكُلُ الحَسَنَاتِ)
(Envy consumes good deeds)
Hadith 5040
وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «إِيَّاكُمْ وَالْحَسَدَ فَإِنَّ الْحَسَدَ يَأْكُلُ الْحَسَنَاتِ كَمَا تَأْكُلُ النَّارُ الْحَطَبَ» . رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُد
Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, that he said: "Beware of envy, for envy consumes good deeds just as fire consumes wood." Its chain of narration is weak. Narrated by Abu Dawood.
