Abu Ayyub Ansari, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "It is not permissible for a man to sever relations with his (Muslim) brother for more than three days; when they meet, each turns away from the other, and the better of the two is the one who initiates the greeting of peace (salam)." Agreed upon.
