Mishkat al-Masabih
كتاب الآدابThe Book of Manners
(ثَلَاثَةُ شُرُوطٍ لِتَعْظِيمِ ٱللَّهِ)
(Three requirements for honoring Allah)
Hadith 4972
وَعَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِنَّ مِنْ إِجْلَالِ الله إكْرامَ ذِي الشَّيبةِ المسلمِ وَحَامِلُ الْقُرْآنِ غَيْرَ الْغَالِي فِيهِ وَلَا الْجَافِي عَنْهُ وَإِكْرَامُ السُّلْطَانِ الْمُقْسِطِ» . رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُدَ وَالْبَيْهَقِيُّ فِي «شُعَبِ الْإِيمَانِ»
Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Honoring an elderly Muslim, honoring such a memorizer of the Qur'an who does not act with excess, and honoring a just ruler are from the reverence of Allah." Its chain is weak. Narrated by Abu Dawood and Al-Bayhaqi in Shu'ab al-Iman.
