(مَنْ هُوَ الوَاصِلُ لِلرَّحِمِ؟)
(Who Is the One Who Maintains Family Ties?)
Hadith 4923
وَعَنِ ابْنِ عَمْرٍو قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسلم: «لَيْسَ الواصِلُ بالمكافىء وَلَكِنَّ الْوَاصِلَ الَّذِي إِذَا قُطِعَتْ رَحِمُهُ وَصَلَهَا» . رَوَاهُ البُخَارِيّ
Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, reports that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The one who reciprocates kindness only in response to kindness is not truly upholding the ties of kinship; rather, the one who truly upholds the ties of kinship is the one who, when his ties are severed, still maintains them." Narrated by al-Bukhari.
