(كَلِمَةُ الرَّحْمِ مُشْتَقَّةٌ مِنَ الرَّحْمَانِ)
(The Word ‘Mercy’ Is Derived from ‘Ar-Rahman’)
Hadith 4920
وَعَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: الرَّحِمُ شِجْنَةٌ مِنَ الرَّحْمَنِ. فَقَالَ اللَّهُ: مَنْ وَصَلَكِ وَصَلْتُهُ وَمَنْ قَطَعَكِ قَطَعْتُهُ . رَوَاهُ البُخَارِيّ
Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The womb (rahm) is derived from the Most Merciful (Rahman). Allah said: 'Whoever maintains ties with you, I will maintain ties with him, and whoever severs ties with you, I will sever ties with him.'" Narrated by al-Bukhari.
