(مَاذَا إِذَا كَانَ الوَالِدَانِ غَيْرَ مُسْلِمَيْنِ؟)
(What If the Parents Are Non-Muslims?)
Hadith 4913
وَعَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنهُ قَالَتْ: قَدِمَتْ عَلَيَّ أُمِّي وَهِيَ مُشْرِكَةٌ فِي عَهْدِ قُرَيْشٍ فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ أُمِّي قَدِمَتْ عَلَيَّ وَهِيَ رَاغِبَةٌ أَفَأَصِلُهَا؟ قَالَ: «نعم صِليها» . مُتَّفق عَلَيْهِ
Asma bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: My mother came to me while she was a polytheist. This was at the time when the treaty (of Hudaybiyyah) was made with the Quraysh. I said: O Messenger of Allah! Indeed, my mother has come to me and she desires good treatment from me, so should I maintain ties of kinship with her? The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Yes! Maintain ties of kinship with her." Agreed upon.
