(مَنْعُ الفَخْرِ المُتَكَبِّرِ)
(Prohibition of Arrogant Boasting)
Hadith 4899
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «لَيَنْتَهِيَنَّ أَقْوَامٌ يَفْتَخِرُونَ بِآبَائِهِمُ الَّذِينَ مَاتُوا إِنَّمَا هُمْ فَحْمٌ مِنْ جَهَنَّمَ أَوْ لَيَكُونُنَّ أَهْوَنَ عَلَى اللَّهِ مِنَ الْجُعَلِ الَّذِي يُدَهْدِهُ الْخِرَاءَ بِأَنْفِهِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ أَذْهَبَ عَنْكُمْ عُبِّيَّةَ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ وَفَخْرَهَا بِالْآبَاءِ إِنَّمَا هُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ تَقِيٌّ أَوْ فَاجِرٌ شَقِيٌّ النَّاسُ كُلُّهُمْ بَنُو آدَمَ وَآدَمُ مِنْ تُرَابٍ» . رَوَاهُ التِّرْمِذِيّ وَأَبُو دَاوُد
Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he said: "People should stop boasting about their deceased ancestors; they are merely coals of Hell, or they are more insignificant in the sight of Allah than a dung beetle that pushes filth with its nose. Indeed, Allah has removed the pride and arrogance of the Age of Ignorance regarding ancestors from you. Now, (the one who is honored) is either a pious, righteous believer or a wretched sinner. All people are the children of Adam, and Adam was (created) from dust." Its chain is Hasan. Narrated by al-Tirmidhi and Abu Dawood.
