Hadith 4878
Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) passed away and wealth came to Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) from Alaa bin Hadrami (may Allah be pleased with him), Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Whoever had a debt upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) or to whom he had promised to give something, let him come to us (we will pay that debt and fulfill his promise)." Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I said, "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) promised me that he would give me such and such and such," and Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) spread his hands three times. Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) said that he gave me a handful, and when I counted them, they were five hundred. Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Take the same amount two more times." Agreed upon.
