Mishkat al-Masabih
كتاب الآدابThe Book of Manners
(كَلِمَةُ رِضًا وَاحِدَةٌ كَافِيَةٌ لِلْمَغْفِرَةِ)
(A single word of contentment is sufficient for forgiveness)
Hadith 4813
وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِنَّ الْعَبْدَ لَيَتَكَلَّمُ بِالْكَلِمَةِ مِنْ رِضْوَانِ اللَّهِ لَا يُلْقِي لَهَا بَالًا يَرْفَعُ اللَّهُ بِهَا دَرَجَاتٍ وَإِنَّ الْعَبْدَ لِيَتَكَلَّمُ بِالْكَلِمَةِ مِنْ سَخَطِ اللَّهِ لَا يُلْقِي لَهَا بَالًا يَهْوِي بِهَا فِي جَهَنَّمَ» . رَوَاهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ. وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ لَهُمَا: «يَهْوِي بِهَا فِي النَّارِ أَبْعَدَ مَا بَيْنَ الْمَشْرِقِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ»
Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Indeed, a servant utters a word that pleases Allah, and he gives it no importance, but because of it Allah raises him in degrees. And a servant utters a word that angers Allah, and he gives it no importance, but because of it he falls into Hell." These are the words of Bukhari. And in the narration of Bukhari and Muslim: "Because of it, he falls into Hell as deep as the distance between the east and the west." __QUR_N__, __XREF_N__, __REF_N__
