Mishkat al-Masabih
كتاب الآدابThe Book of Manners
(الْمُتَكَلِّمُونَ بِالْفُحْشِ وَالْمُتَكَبِّرُونَ بَعِيدُونَ عَنِّي يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ)
(The foul-mouthed and arrogant will be far from me on the Day of Judgment)
Hadith 4797
وَعَن أبي ثَعلبةَ الخُشنيِّ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «إِنَّ أَحَبَّكُمْ إِلَيَّ وَأَقْرَبَكُمْ مِنِّي يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ أَحَاسِنُكُمْ أَخْلَاقًا وَإِنَّ أَبْغَضَكُمْ إِلَيَّ وَأَبْعَدَكُمْ مني مساويكم أَخْلَاقًا الثرثارون المتشدقون المتفيقهون» . رَوَاهُ الْبَيْهَقِيّ فِي «شعب الْإِيمَان»
It is narrated from Abu Tha’labah al-Khushani, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Indeed, the one among you who is dearest and most beloved to me in this world, and the one who will be closest to me on the Day of Resurrection, is the one among you who has the best character. And the one among you who is most disliked by me in this world, and the one who will be farthest from me on the Day of Resurrection, is the one among you who has bad character, is excessively talkative, speaks rudely, and shouts when speaking.” Hasan, narrated by al-Bayhaqi in Shu’ab al-Iman.
