(فَضِيلَةُ قَوْلِ الْأَشْعَارِ أَثْنَاءَ الْجِهَادِ)
(The virtue of reciting poetry during jihad)
Hadith 4795
عَن كعبِ بنِ مالكٍ أَنَّهُ قَالَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى قد أنزلَ فِي الشعرِ مَا أَنْزَلَ. فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِنَّ الْمُؤْمِنَ يُجَاهِدُ بِسَيْفِهِ وَلِسَانِهِ وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَكَأَنَّمَا تَرْمُونَهُمْ بِهِ نَضْحَ النَّبْلِ» رَوَاهُ فِي شَرْحِ السُّنَّةِ وَفِي «الِاسْتِيعَابِ» لِابْنِ عَبْدِ الْبَرِّ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَاذَا تَرَى فِي الشِّعْرِ؟ فَقَالَ: «إِنَّ الْمُؤْمِنَ يُجَاهد بِسَيْفِهِ وَلسَانه»
It is narrated from Ka'b bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): Allah Almighty has revealed a command regarding the condemnation of poetry. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Indeed, the believer strives with his sword and his tongue. By the One in Whose hand is my soul! (This satire is such) as if you are shooting arrows at them." In Al-Isti'ab by Ibn Abd al-Barr, it is mentioned that he said: O Messenger of Allah! What do you say about poetry? The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Indeed, the believer strives with his sword and his tongue." Its chain is authentic, narrated in Sharh al-Sunnah.
