Hadith 4767
وَعَن مسروقٍ قَالَ: لَقِيتُ عُمَرَ فَقَالَ: مَنْ أَنْتَ؟ قُلْتُ: مَسْرُوقُ بْنُ الْأَجْدَعِ. قَالَ عُمَرُ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «الْأَجْدَعُ شيطانٌ» رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُد وابنُ مَاجَه
Masruq narrates: I met Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), and he said: Who are you? I said: Masruq bin Ajda’. Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: "Ajda’, is (the name of) a devil." Its chain is weak. Narrated by Abu Dawood and Ibn Majah.
