كتاب الآدابThe Book of Manners
(كَيْفَ يَجْلِسُ فِي الْمَجْلِسِ؟)
(How should one sit in a gathering?)
Hadith 4696
وَعَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «لَا يُقِيمُ الرَّجُلُ الرَّجُلَ مِنْ مَجْلِسِهِ ثُمَّ يَجْلِسُ فِيهِ وَلَكِنْ تَفَسَّحُوا وَتَوَسَّعُوا» . مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ
It is narrated from Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "No man should make another man get up from his place so that he may sit there; rather, make room and accommodate each other." Agreed upon.
