(السَّلَامُ قَبْلَ الْإِذْنِ)
(Greeting before seeking permission)
Hadith 4676
وَعَنْ جَابِرٌ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «لَا تَأْذَنُوا لِمَنْ لَمْ يَبْدَأْ بالسلامِ» رَوَاهُ الْبَيْهَقِيّ فِي «شعب الْإِيمَان»
It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Do not grant permission to the one who does not begin with salam (greeting of peace) when seeking permission." Its chain of narration is weak; it is narrated by Al-Bayhaqi in Shu'ab al-Iman.
