(الْوُقُوفُ عَلَى جَانِبِ الْبَابِ)
(Standing on one side of the door)
Hadith 4673
وَعَن عبد الله بن بُسرٍ قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا أَتَى بَابَ قَوْمٍ لَمْ يَسْتَقْبِلِ الْبَاب تِلْقَاءِ وَجْهِهِ وَلَكِنْ مِنْ رُكْنِهِ الْأَيْمَنِ أَوِ الْأَيْسَرِ فَيَقُولُ: «السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ» وَذَلِكَ أَنَّ الدُّورَ لَمْ يَكُنْ يَوْمَئِذٍ عَلَيْهَا سُتُورٌ. رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُدَ وَذَكَرَ حَدِيثَ أَنَسٍ قَالَ: «السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ» فِي «بَابِ الضِّيَافَةِ»
Abdullah bin Busr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would come to someone's door, he would not face his face directly towards the door, rather he would come to its right corner or left corner and would say: "As-salamu Alaikum! As-salamu Alaikum!" In those days, there were no curtains on the doors. Its chain of narration is Hasan, narrated by Abu Dawood. And the hadith narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him): The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "As-salamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullah" is mentioned in the chapter of Hospitality.
