Mishkat al-Masabih
كتاب الآدابThe Book of Manners
(السَّلَامُ فِي مَجْلِسٍ مُشْتَرَكٍ بِنِيَّةِ الْمُسْلِمِ)
(Greeting in a mixed gathering with the intention for the Muslim)
Hadith 4639
وَعَن أُسامة بن زيد: أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَرَّ بِمَجْلِسٍ فِيهِ أَخْلَاطٌ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَالْمُشْرِكِينَ عَبَدَةِ الْأَوْثَانِ وَالْيَهُودِ فَسَلَّمَ عَلَيْهِمْ
It is narrated from Usama bin Zaid, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, passed by a gathering in which Muslims, idol-worshipping polytheists, and Jews were sitting, so he, peace and blessings be upon him, greeted them with salam. Agreed upon.
