The Book of Retaliation
(بَيَانُ عُقُوبَةِ العَبْدِ الَّذِي يَتْرُكُ دَارَ السَّلَامِ)
(Statement on the punishment of a slave who leaves the land of Islam)
Hadith 3549
وَعَنْ جَرِيرٍ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «إِذَا أَبَقَ الْعَبْدُ إِلَى الشِّرْكِ فقد حلَّ دَمه» . رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُد
Jarir reported the Prophet as saying, “When a slave runs away and reverts to polytheism he may lawfully be killed.” Abu Dawud transmitted it.
